THE SHOOT

Below are a few pics from the shoots as they actually happened. New pics will appear here as we get chance to add them so please - don’t forget to come back!

Here are some of the comments our lovely SWAGS have said about their photoshoot experiences and their personal reasons for taking part in the calendar.

“I have been an Army wag for three years now, and I remain overwhelmed by how supportive the other wags are of each other, helping each other while their partners complete tours of duty etc. The same was true during the photoshoot – there was such a friendly atmosphere and I’ve made some great friends. This whole experience has been a really positive one and I can’t imagine a more worthwhile cause. I didn’t hesitate to volunteer when I heard about this, I mean, what’s a few minutes of embarrassment when you consider what our soldiers do for us day in, day out?” Lynsey Keast – SWAG

“My husband is serving with 2RTR in Afghanistan and I wanted a way to show my support for him and all the troops. I was nervous and apprehensive before the shoot, but we all just had a laugh and really enjoyed it. Roy, the photographer, made us all relax and feel at ease. We even had support from the Red Arrows when they did an acrobatic display right over our heads!” Vanda James - SWAG.

“My fiancé is in REME and I know how hard it can be for the guys when they are on tour, so it was good to be able to show our support. It was great to meet some of the other SWAGS today, we had a good laugh and the whole experience was something I really enjoyed. We were very lucky with the weather and I found that Roy, the photographer, put us all at ease when we were nervous.” Vashti White – SWAG.

“Help for Heroes is a cause I feel strongly about and having the opportunity to be part of the calendar was great. My fiancé is in the RLC and returned from Afghanistan in April. I wanted to show my support to all the troops serving out there. It has been a fantastic day with fellow SWAGS and Roy, a great photographer. An all round confidence booster!!” Faye Hanner – SWAG

“My boyfriend served in 2PWRR for nearly 6 years, touring many conflict zones. The servicemen and women risk their lives daily to protect our country and those injured need all our support! A great fun day for a brilliant charity!!” Bex Chase – SWAG.

“I’ve got friends in the Army, Marines and the RAF, but the reason I got involved is because my best friend’s boyfriend is in the Princess of Wales Regiment. I went along for moral support really. It was a bit daunting at first doing the promotional shoot, but it ended up being great fun. All the other SWAGS were really nice and Roy, the photographer, put us all at ease making jokes and teasing us. I’ve raised £200 so far and have set myself a personal target of £500.” Hannah Mead – SWAG

“I was so thrilled to be invited to model for the SWAG’s Help for Heroes calendar. It is a charity very close to my heart as my late father was in the RAF and I am so proud of him. I always promised myself that I would do something really special in his memory and this is perfect. My dad would have been so proud and I am so happy to do my bit for everyone in the services.” Lisa Patel – SWAG

“My fiancé is currently serving in 22 Signal Regiment and recently returned from a 6 month tour in Afghanistan. I’ve been an Army WAG for just over a year and through this time I’ve become more aware of Help for Heroes and the great work they do. So when I was invited to help the charity by taking part in the calendar, I jumped at the chance! I drove all the way down from Warrington to Southampton for the photoshoot and it was definitely worth the drive! I had a great day, it was good to meet the other SWAGs and we all had lots of fun doing the shoot!” Rachel Chriscoli - SWAG

My fiancé is serving with 1PWRR based in Paderborn. I thought this was a fantastic way to show our support to our troops and even better way to raise money for the Help 4 Heroes Charity. It’s wonderful that so many people are so willing to get involved! I had a brilliant time on the photoshoot and met some lovely ladies, whom I hope to stay in contact with in the future. We were all made to feel at ease by Roy and Brian, which created such a relaxed atmosphere that all those jittery nerves from the beginning of the day just disappeared!
Brilliant Idea Kelly and what a great job in organising it all! Looking forward to getting involved more! Thank you for a fab day!
